The EMILIE experiment allowed ground based photometry of the galactic diffuse emission in the submillimeter range during a first campaign in Hawaii. A second campaign at the geographic South Pole enabled to observe the regions of the galaxy visible only from the south hemisphere. The quality of this site for submillimetre astronomy was confirmed. A better reference level for the emission was determined, leading to a width at half maximum of the latitude profile close to 1°.
