A review is presented of the theories concerning the birth and the evolution of the universe and its structures, with the aim of underlining the possible observational tests. The authors focus their attention on the relations between the properties of the 2.7K blackbody radiation and the structures of the early universe. The possibility of observing the 2.7K anisotropies is discussed for ground based, balloon-borne and satellite experiments.
