It is shown that the curvature gamma-quanta emitted in the pulsar magnetosphere tangentially to the curved lines of force of the magnetic field transform into positronium atoms, which are stable and can be ionized only by thermal radiation from the neutron star surface. It means that the intensity of production of electron - positron plasmas and the temperature of the polar spot can be calculated self-consistently. A dependence of the transition probability gamma yields Ps on the transversal wave vector of the photon carries a resonance character. In the vicinity of the resonance K (perpendicular) = 2m - Epsilon b a mixed state of the photon and positronium exists, called gamma positronium.
