A linear transformation of magnetoatmospheric waves and resonance capture of waves in sunspots are considered. A theory of mutual transformation of all types of magneto-acoustic-gravity (MAG) waves in an isothermal atmosphere is developed. Sunspots are shown to contain three resonant layers, namely the chromospheric resonator for slow magneto-acoustic waves and two subphotospheric resonators for slow and fast waves. The resonators are coupled to each other through the wave transformation. A qualitative model for combined oscillatory convection in sunspots is proposed. A model of running penumbral waves based on the theory of linear transformation of MAG waves is constructed.
