We propose to use the WIYN+HYDRA to complete a galaxy redshift survey to B≤19 in the vicinity of very local (cz ≲ 7,500 km s^-1): Ly(alpha) clouds found in the spectra of very bright AGN observed with the HST/GHRS and HST/STIS. These very low column density (log N(H I)< 14.5) clouds are the low z analogue of the high z ``Ly(alpha) Forest'' clouds, which are thought to be intergalactic in nature, i.e., not associated with galaxies. Our discovery of these clouds in nearby voids strongly suggests that at least some of them are truly intergalactic. The primary purpose of the current proposal is to test this hypothesis by searching for faint dwarf galaxies close to the HST discovered Ly(alpha) clouds. A secondary purpose is to explore the extent and baryon content of the Ly(alpha) absorbing halos of all galaxies observed. Because these clouds are very nearby ( > 3 times closer than typical ``Key Project'' clouds), extremely faint limits ( M_B=-16 for the most distant of these clouds) can be set using WIYN+HYDRA observations. Preliminary analysis of roughly half of our sample, obtained from the WIYN as well as from Las Campanas Observatory in Chile, indicate that absorbers are not generally associated with individual galactic halos. We request additional time on the WIYN in order to complete our sample and put more stringent limits on the galaxy - absorber connection, assuming such a connection exists.
