We make a first application of the linear gravitational potentials of the
conformal gravity theory to the distance scale associated with clusters of
galaxies, with the theory being found to give a reasonable value for the mean
velocity of the virialized core of the typical Coma cluster, with no need to
invoke the existence of dark matter.
