Improved UBV photoelectric photometry of a star near the center of the Gamma Cyg nebula is examined. It is shown that this star may be a highly reddened O or early B star characterized by a visual extinction of about 5.4 mag and a (B-V) color excess of approximately 1.8 mag. The photometric distance of the star is found to be about the same as the distance previously determined for the nebula.
