A sample of 115 Sc galaxies with photometric data in the I band obtained by Freudling [1] and reliable data in the 21-cm HI line have been used to determine the coefficients c_A_, c_L_,and c_H_ that represent corrections to their diameters, luminosities, and neutral hydrogen mass, respectively, for the inclination effect. The tests were based on the assumption that the optical surface brightness and mass-to- luminosity ratio, together with the hydrogen surface brightness and total-to-hydrogen mass ratio, were all inclination-independent. Our results confirm a real increase in diameters (less than in the B and R bands), extinction in galaxies, and the absence of hydrogen self- absorption. The estimates of the coefficients are not strongly affected by the Malmquist bias.
