The detectors for the Proportional Counter Array (PCA), scheduled to be launched on the X-ray Timing Explorer (XTE) in 1995, have been built and undergone a substantial ground calibration program. We present measurements of the PCA sub-millisecond timing capabilities which, combined with a large aperture and flexible data system (see companion poster by E. Morgan), will allow detailed studies of time variability on timescales as short as micro-seconds.
