The paper examines the reduction of equations of motion of the plane
three body problem by introducing plane similitude groups in Poincare's
1-form. This leads in turn to an examination of the case of trajectories
with zero angular momentum and zero energy. Consideration is then given
to reduction of the three-dimensional problem.
