Echelle spectrograms with a resolution of 0.15 A have been obtained of the central object in the 30 Doradus nebula. The Na I and Ca II interstellar absorption lines have five distinct velocity components, one formed in the Galaxy and the others in the LMC. In addition, the LMC absorption profiles have high-velocity wings extending blueward, and there is weak, high-velocity absorption extending redward from the galactic Ca II components. A large range in Na I/Ca II ratios is found among the LMC components. Velocities are also given for the double nebular emission lines and for the single He 3889-A nebular absorption line, which show that the more negative-velocity ionized material is in front of the central object, while the positive-velocity material is behind. There is little if any velocity correspondence between individual interstellar and nebular line components.
