The paper discusses the intensity and polarization distribution of the radio galaxy 3C310 mapped at 5 GHz using the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. Comparisons with 1.4 GHz observations yields the distributions of spectral index, depolarization, and projected magnetic field. The brightness distribution at high resolution is very complex and consists of several regions of enhanced emission (knots); a model is proposed in which these knots are assumed to be generated in the inner regions from which they move outwards as ram pressure-confined plasmons.
