From the BG catalogue a statistically unlikely density of point sources is found to exist around the radio source 3 C 27. A survey of a large part of this region at 2695 MHz confirms the existence of the BG sources lying within it and displays a similar source excess. A detailed study of the spectra of 3 C 27 and its surrounding BG sources is presented. It is concluded that most, and perhaps all, of these are extragalactic from their small angular sizes and by consideration of their spectra. No extended emission of significance is found within the area. The possibility that at least some of the sources could be physically associated is considered.
