In this paper we prove the existence of families of vertical critical periodic orbits of the general planar three-body problem. We also give four such families which have been computed by numerical integration of the equations of motion. These families can be used as starting points for finding families of three-dimensional periodic orbits by continuation of their members to the third dimension.
