A spectrum (345-1000 nm) of SN 2010al (CBET #2207) in UGC 4286 (z = 0.0172) was obtained by R. Quimby and D. Levitan (Caltech) on Mar. 18.22 UT with the Double Spectrograph mounted on the Palomar Hale 5-m telescope. The blue spectrum shows strong NIII/CIII 4640A and HeII 4686, 5412A features similar to the early spectra of SN 2001fa and SN 1998S (e.g., Leonard et al. 2000, ApJ, 536, 239). The spectrum also exhibits strong H delta and weak H beta and H alpha emission.
