A novel two-stage model of protoplanetary matter irradiation is presently derived from the systematization of (1) data on the content of planetary type and solar type noble gases, as well as (2) precompaction records of the irradiation of constituent grains and chondrules by solar wind and solar flare particles in both gas-rich meteorites and C and O chondrites. Maximum irradiation could have occurred during catastrophic fragmentation and reassembly of parent asteroids.
