To separate the faint radio AGN population and a population of star-forming galaxies and then to determine the properties of each population it is necessary to couple deep radio and optical observations over a reasonably large area of sky. Here we present the preliminary results obtained cross-matching the photometric VIMOS survey (Visible MultiObject Spectrograph for the Very Large Telescope) and Very Large Array data at 1.4 GHz.
