The inventory of S species in comets is relevant to the origins of comets, and of life. Synthetic fluorescence spectra of S2 have been calculated as a function of time after release from a cometary nucleus, and are convoluted with a Gaussian of 1.1 nm FWHM to facilitate comparison with IUE spectra. A spectrum closely resembling steady state is reached after 700 sec.
