Nonlinear interactions in closed and open systems are examined, with the closed system represented by a turbulent plasma. It is shown that nonlinear interaction between nonresonance and resonance waves may lead to the instability (damping) of the nonresonance waves in open systems. In closed systems, the instability is absent, and the adiabatic invariant (the number of nonresonance wave quanta) is conserved. An example of the nonlinear interaction in open systems in astrophysics is considered.
