Results of the XMM-Newton GT shadowing observation of a density enhancement in the Magellanic Bridge are presented. The goal of the observation was to place limits on the diffuse or unresolved background in the 0.4-1.0 keV band that originates in front of and behind the Magellanic Bridge. Hopefully it will be possible to place some interesting limits on the emission, but in any case techniques for the flat fielding and background reduction for observations of extended objects and the diffuse X-ray background will be demonstrated.
