TNOs are thought to be the most pristine objects from the formation of the solar system. The knowledge of their physical properties is still incomplete. We are continuing our TNO observational program started in 1997. We are reporting results from broadband optical colors obtained for about twenty new objets. Photometric observations were performed during five runs in 2000 at ESO/NTT (Chile), CFHT(hawaii) and TNG (La Palma). Particular attention has been paid to the observations and data reduction technique of these faint objects. These new data increase considerably our previous dataset of 14 objects (B, V, R, I filters). We have now available an homogeneous and statistically significant sample for extended characterization. The observed objects confirmed the wide spread of colors as suggested by our first results (Barucci et al., 1999,2000). We will discuss the results and their implications on proposed models for resurfacing mechanisms. Relevant comparisons will be made with other related classes of objects: the short-period comets, Pluto and Charon, and the Centaurs.
