Following the recent detection by the Granat/Sigma group of hard power-law components in the 35-200 keV spectra of some low-luminosity X-ray bursters we have investigated the relation for non-pulsating low-mass X-ray binaries between the X-ray luminosity and the spectral hardness in the 13-80 keV band using the HEAO-1 A4 catalog. We find that these quantities show a global correlation over a range of more than two orders of magnitude in luminosity.
