We have compared the radio continuum properties of Markarian galaxies at lambda lambda 6.3 and 2.8 cm with the integrated far-infrared luminosities over the 60 micrometer and 100 micrometer IRAS bands and over the 12 micrometer to 25 micrometer regime. We find that Markarian galaxies behave like normal star-forming galaxies. Comparing L60, 100 with the radio emission, most objects lie in the region of normal star-forming galaxies. Only some Seyferts and most of the radio-quiet quasars show a higher radio-to-FIR ratio. Comparing L12, 25 with the radio luminosity, the correlation is surprisingly tight for all objects. In both cases the dispersion of the correlation seems to depend on the radio wavelength and is smaller at lambda 2.8 cm than at lambda 6.3 cm.
