I report the discovery of a coherent S-wave modulation with the 351-s spin period in the optical emission lines of the old nova system GK Persei. The pulsed fraction of the Balmer and He II line fluxes is 4 and 8%, respectively. The spectroscopy presented in this work extends the orbital-phase coverage to the hitherto unobserved phase intervals during which potential eclipses in the system might occur. From the absence of eclipse signatures in the new data it is concluded that the orbital inclination is 46 deg less than i less than 73 deg, implying a white dwarf mass Ml greater than or approximately equal to 0.78 solar mass. The spectral type of the secondary has been re-determined to be K2-K3.
