Sunspot Groups: Distribution, Sunspot Groups: Solar Activity Cycles

A list of high latitude sunspot groups (φ ≥ ±40°) compiled from the data of the Soviet Solar Service for 1955 - 1990 is given. It is shown that they are a special class of features of solar activity, and do not determine the main peculiarities of the 11-year solar cycle and the secular cycle. It seems that they are related to a longer cycle or to long intervals of very high activity.
