The present theory of gravitational pulsing, which identifies galaxies and groups and clusters of galaxies with regions of assumed Gaussian primordial density fluctuations (PDFs) having a smaller turnaround time than the age of the universe, shows that the properties of the hierarchy created uniquely depend on the PDF power spectrum. The resulting distribution of galaxies and groups and clusters is non-Gaussian; the theory successfully reproduces both the observed two- and three-point correlation functions for clusters of galaxies of n = -1 spectrum. The hierarchy thus constructed specifies unique higher-order correlations.
