Six X-ray flares were observed in the source EXO 2030 + 375 with an
average time interval of about 4 hr between the flares. It is shown here
that the flares can be due to Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities near the
magnetospheric boundary of the neutron star when it reaches the
equilibrium period.
