The general problem of the deprojection of optically thin emission is examined for the case of axially symmetric emission. The iterative deconvolution technique introduced by Lucy (1974) is employed for the deprojection of two mathematical forms of emissivity. The method is stable and gives results that are physically probable, and the approach is of interest to the study of optically thin astronomical objects which are axially symmetric.
