Observations of the Ia-type supernovae SN1983G, SN1987N, SN1989A, and the type-II SN1988A are presented and discussed in terms of the behavior and classification of each supernova (SN). The ongoing photometric and spectroscopic observations are examined for the three Ia-types, and although minor peculiarities in the spectroscopic behavior are identified, the photometric behavior and absolute magnitudes are near average. An examination of the light curves reveals that SN1988A is one of the Plateau subtype. It is theorized that an analogous amount of Ni-56 is produced by SN1988A and the Ia-type SNs because the dispersions of their respective maximum absolute luminosities are similar. It is also mentioned that the decline rate of the late phases are close to the rates associated with the decay of Co-56.
