Scientific paper

A method to resolve binary sources with the ROSAT HRI with angular separations of the order of ⪉10″and companions of highly unequal brightness is presented. Small-scale positional fluctuations are removed. The azimuthally averaged model for the primary point spread function is subtracted to obtain the weaker source. Applications to the pair AB Dor/Rst 137 B are presented.
