Interstellar extinction laws in the wavelength range 0.136 to 0.274 μm have been determined using data for moderately hot stars taken from the S2/68 ultraviolet sky survey. Golay's boxes for stars in both the Geneva photometry and the S2/68 catalogues were used to obtain pairs of near identical stars. An upper limit to the extinction was set at E(B-V) = 0.150 in order to restrict the study to the diffuse material in the solar neighbourhood. The mean extinction law is in good agreement with previous determinations derived from more heavily reddened stars. Variations in the shape of the curve are found implying the presence of at least two components. The 2200 Å feature appears to originate from regions dense in elements heavier than helium.
