Oxygen abundances are obtained for eight (mostly metal-rich) globular clusters. With respect to iron, oxygen is overabundant in metal-rich globular clusters by [O/Fe] = +0.4±0.1, close to the value obtained for field halo stars. Only marginally significative differences from cluster to cluster exist. Oxygen underabundance is not the cause of the anomalous blue horizontal branches of NGC 288 and NGC 6752.
