It is shown that the rotation curve of a galaxy with a prolate potential
of Stäckel form can be used to derive both the potential and the
density distribution for each assumed value of the central axis ratio of
the surfaces of constant density. As an example, a set of prolate models
with simple rotation curves is considered.
