The seismicity of Kilauea Volcano is interpreted here in terms of discrete three-dimensional internal structures. A geologic framework is constructed within which further observations of magma supply, harmonic tremor, rift zone dike complexes, and the three-dimensional structure of the summit magma reservoir and south flank tectonic blocks of Kilauea may be fit. Mechanical analyses of dike emplacement within the rift zones are integrated within the framework. The general finite element submodel is applied to Kilauea with an emphasis on the entire shield and the kinematics of interactions between the two rift zones during the magma intrusion processes.
