Hercules X-1 was tracked for 67 hr in 1986 May-June by the Whipple Observatory 10 m gamma-ray telescope. One 25 minute episode of apparent pulsed emission was detected at primary photon energies above 0.6 TeV. The observed pulsation frequency is anomalous in that it is (0.16 + or - 0.02) percent higher than that associated with the neutron star's spin. The overall significance of the effect is such that it is about 1 percent likely to be spurious.
