Hydrodynamical models for SN 1987A are calculated starting from the new presupernova model of the 6 M_sun; helium core with the hydrogen-rich envelope of mass Menv. The photospheric velocity and the light curve of the theoretical models depend on the explosion energy E, Menv, and the mass and the distribution of 56 Ni. Models and observations are in reasonable agreement for E/Menv = 1.5±0.5×1050erg M_sun;-1, Menv > 3 M_sun;, and MNi = 0.07 M_sun;. The best fit among the calculated models is obtained for Menv = 6.7 M_sun; and E = 1.0×1051erg. Mixing of 56Ni in the core and helium enrichment in the envelope are suggested from the light curve.
