In a deep survey of small nebulosities in the Orion molecular clouds, Reipurth (1985) discovered a conically shaped nebula (Re 50) which had only recently become visible. After a systematic investigation, Reipurth and Bally (1986) concluded that a newborn star located some 1.5 arcmin to the north of the conical nebula was responsible for its illumination. In this paper, an optical polarization map is presented that pinpoints the location of the source relative to the visible nebulosity.
