A Doppler triangulation technique was used to measure displacement velocities of the phase front of wave disturbances (WDs) in the F-region in the vicinity of Alma-Ata during the winter of 1986. In the daytime the phase velocities of all the WD frequency components were directed toward the southeast, while at night the velocities exhibited a significant angular scatter both in the course of individual measurement sessions as well as from session to session. The majority of daytime as well as nighttime measurements reveal a positive phase-velocity dispersion.
