The evidence for a connection between climate changes and solar viability is compelling. However the underlying mechanism(s) is still not clear. In this review a few suggested mechanisms will be presented and discussed, e.g. Ultraviolet variations, Cosmic ray variations, and ways the atmosphere can amplify the tiny variations in solar activity. How can we from observations identify which mechanism that is most likely to be important?
