The hypothesis that M31 and the Galaxy have almost equal and opposite momenta when seen from the barycenter of the Local Group puts a severe constraint on the component of the sun's motions towards M31. Using this constraint and eliminating distant satellites of Andromeda from the solution, the motion of the sun, as seen from the barycenter, is in galactic coordinates 280 km/sec towards l = 102 deg, b = -5 deg. Using recent more accurate determinations of the sun's motion around the Galaxy which are discussed, the motion of the Galaxy is found to lie 27 + or - 15 deg from the direction of M31 and the total relative velocity of these galaxies is deduced to be 137 + or - 20 km/sec. Better bounds are deduced for the mass of the Local Group.
