The composition of the SC star UY Cen is investigated by the curve of growth method and by using Johnson's model atmospheres. The two methods are in good agreement. The principal results are, that with respect to the sun, Li is 0.8 + or - 1.0 dex underabundant, the elements Na to Fe, with the possible exception of V, are normal, while Co and all heavier elements, with the exception of Rb, Eu and Dy, are overabundant by more than 0.6 dex. The heavy element abundances are compared with Cowley and Downs' (1980) recent neutron exposure calculations. A revised C-12/C-13 ratio is given. Combining Greene's (1972) molecular equilibrium calculations with the Johnson atmospheres shows that for a given line ratio the C-12/C-13 ratio can vary from 25 to 160 as O/C varies from 0.98 to 1.02.
