The paper examines the influence of the extent of the pertinent medium on the characteristic form of the dispersion dependence of interplanetary scintillations. Two models are considered: the spherically symmetric solar wind and a fast flux on the background of the spherically symmetric solar wind. It is shown that the dispersion curve in the high-frequency region is determined primarily by velocities in regions of the medium close to the observer.
