Observations of the H I radio line with the Ratan-600 telescope at 2.1 arcmin x 20 arcmin x 6.3 km/sec resolution disclose a thin H I envelope 130 pc in diameter around the Monoceros supernova remnant, the association Mon OB 2, and the Rosette Nebula. The envelope is expanding at about 20 km/sec. If it was formed in a single supernova event, a 2 x 10 to the 52nd erg explosion would have occurred 1.8 million yr ago. Some conclusions are drawn as to the possible connection between the envelope and the other objects observed in this region.
