The present comparison of the results of a mapping method for calculating solar system small-body stability with those of numerical integrations gives attention to the behavior of orbits between Saturn and Jupiter. While substantial agreement is noted between the two methods, it is noted that the integrations yield no indication of instability for several orbits claimed by the mapping to be unstable. The range of results obtained indicate the likelihood that only Jupiter and Saturn precessing orbits with eccentricity ranges near their current values allow for a complete depopulation of the region separating them.
