The radio galaxy 4C 12.50 (PKS 1345 + 125) has many similarities to Arp 220 (IC 4553), the prototype megamaser galaxy. In this experiment, a search is made for corresponding OH emission from 4C 12.50 using the VLA. A weak OH line is tentatively detected, but at a level showing that the OH luminosity of this galaxy is significantly lower than that of Arp 220. The weak 21 cm absorption line detected with Arecibo is confirmed. The OH result is interpreted in light of the difference in the galaxies' H I optical depths to indicate that 4C 12.50 is a far-infrared ultraluminous galaxy observed from a particular direction in which the continuum nucleus is not covered by the molecular gas. This agrees with the picture suggested by Gilmore and Shaw (1986) in which PKS 1345 + 125 is a giant elliptical which is in the process of engulfing a Seyfert nucleus.
