Scope of this work was to determine the stellar neutron capture cross sections of unstable isotopes by the activation technique and to discuss the s-process nucleosynthesis in the corresponding mass regions. The selected isotopes of interest were 155Eu and 163Ho. The first part describes the measurements on 163Ho. The second part deals with 155Eu. Finally the mass regions of Eu/Gd and Dy/Ho/Er were investigated with respect to the main component of the s-process. Using the classical s-process model for the analysis of the 163Dy/163Ho-branching new limits for the electron density of the stellar plasma were derived. As a further result it was shown that a recent stellar model describes the conditions during the synthesis of 164Er properly. The branchings at 154Eu and 155Eu were discussed also for both models.
