We report on an XMM-Newton survey of the L1641 region, covering 3.5×0.5 degrees, just south of the Orion Nebular Cluster. This survey is a companion to a 3.6-24 μm survey of the same region using Spitzer. We observed 7 XMM-Newton fields specifically for this program and are augmenting the X-ray data with XMM-Newton archival data on the region surrounding the ONC including OMC 2/3, τ Ori, L1641N, V833 Ori and V1118 Ori). The full survey plus archival data constitute an essentially complete XMM-Newton survey of the Orion A cloud. The XMM Observations were completed in March 2008.
