MAXI/GSC has detected X-ray brightening of a symbiotic low-mass X-ray binary 4U 1954+319, since 2010 June 17 (UT). The source flux in 2--10 keV had been at a low level, about 13 mCrab on average and at most 50 mCrab since MAXI/GSC started monitoring on 2009 August 15. The X-ray flux from this source started to increase on 2010 June 17, then reached 71 +-4 mCrab on June 24, 65 +- 5 mCrab on June 25.
