Observations are presented of interstellar K I and some Na D profiles towards 16 stars in the globular cluster M4. Three principal components are identified, and the distance and nature of these components are discussed. The closest pair of stars observed reveal structure in the ISM on a scale of 0.01 pc. The K I line strengths suggest a more complex variation in the reddening across the cluster than that previously reported.
