We obtained low resolution spectra of the optical nova candidate N2009-08e in M31 (RA=00 42 36.16, Dec=+41 18 02.4, J2000) discovered by Koichi Nishiyama and Fujio Kabashima, http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/CBAT_M31.html#2009-08e , on CCD frames taken around Aug. 26.672 UT. The spectrum of N2009-8e in M31 has been taken on 2009 Sept. 18.014 with the Russian 6-m telescope (BTA) equipped with the SCORPIO spectral camera.
